Where the angle numbers come from

There's no peer-reviewed veterinary standard for dog ramp angle. What exists is a widely circulated recommendation, echoed across pet-mobility guides, of roughly 18-25 degrees, and a simpler rule of thumb — ramp length should be about 2.5x the height — that works out to roughly 23.6 degrees.
